Renowned Canadian Printmaker, Otis Tamasauskas will dazzle the assembled crowd with experiments on the press. The exhibition runs from September 1 - October 5, 2017. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. ​Panel discussion to begin at 7:30pm including print media artists: Sean Caulfield, April Dean, Jewel Shaw, Chrissy Poitras and Robert Truskowski, will discuss topics related to contemporary practices in printmaking. Eighty-seven Japanese artists and forty-five Canadian artists, including printmakers from Saskatchewan, are represented in this show. Organized by the Kyoto Print Exhibition Executive in collaboration with the Art and Design Department of the University of Alberta and the Society of Northern Alberta Print-artists (SNAP), the Art Gallery of Regina is pleased to present this exhibition in Saskatchewan.

Examples of traditional printmaking methods, such as mezzotint and lithography, as well as contemporary methods, such as digital prints and UV silkscreen, are evident in these works. This international exhibition showcases an expansive range of images and techniques which speak to the broad and constantly evolving art of printmaking.

Caulfield’s work is in various public and private collections including: Houghton Library, Harvard University, USA Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, England Blanton Museum of Art, University of Texas, Austin, Texas, USA. Recent exhibitions include: Perceptions of Promise, Chelsea Art Museum, New York, USA/Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Alberta The New World, The Centre for Modern and Contemporary Art, Debrecen, Hungary Imagining Science, Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta.Ĭaulfield has received numerous grants and awards for his work including: Triennial Prize at the 2nd Bangkok Triennial International Print and Drawing Exhibition, Bangkok, Thailand SSHRC Dissemination Grant: Canadian Stem Cell Network Impact Grant SSHRC Fine Arts Creation Grant Canada Council Travel Grant and a Visual Arts Fellowship, Illinois Arts Council, Illinois, USA. He has exhibited his prints, drawings and artist’s books extensively throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan. Sean Caulfield is a Centennial Professor in the Department of Art and Design at the University of Alberta.
